Protect Against Pests: Illinois 2017
Midwest Pesticide Action Center is hosting a full-day workshop on integrated pest management. This conference will go beyond the basics and address the need to create workable IPM programs by facility type. Expert presentations and resources will be targeted at decision-makers in order to develop policy, protocol, and cooperation to better combat the bed bug epidemic in the Midwest as well as other common pests such as cockroaches and rodents.
Managers of multi-unit housing, senior housing, shelters and group homes, schools and child cares, and client service providers are encouraged to attend.
Lunch and other refreshments will be provided. The event will run from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Check-in begins at 8:30 AM.
Dini Miller, Ph.D.
Professor of Urban Pest Management, Department of Entomology, Virginia Tech
Dr. Miller has won numerous awards for her work in urban entomology including the pest control industries Crown Leadership Award, the Entomological Society of Americas (Eastern Branch) Distinguished Achievement Award in Extension, the Gamma Sigma Delta Award of Merit in Extension and most recently the 2012 Virginia Tech University Alumni Award for Excellence in Extension.
Other speakers: Ruth Kerzee, Executive Director of Midwest Pesticide Action Center, and other notable professionals in the area of pest management including experts in state and local issues, code, and policy.
